Acupuncture is a Somatic Language.

Acupuncture is a somatic language.

The human body does not speak English or Spanish or French.  It speaks pain and relaxation, slack and tightness, hot and cold, wet and dry and so on.  For example, when a heart attack is imminent the body often asks for help by sending pain and numbness down the inside of the arm which happens to run right along the Heart meridian.  A skilled practitioner of acupuncture is fluent in the language of the body, both in listening to what the body is saying through the pulses, tongue tissue, complexion, the sound of the voice etc and in making suggestions to the body through the use of needles the body.
